The Senior Manager, Risk Management is primarily responsible for oversight and coordination of key aspects of the property, casualty, construction and other insurance programs. You will be responsible for reinsurance and other risk transfer infrastructure. This will include the understanding and evaluating of insurance policies, coverage enhancements, assessing risks, coverage placement, as well as more broadly assisting in the structuring, negotiating, purchasing and day to day management of insurance programs.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage all underwriting data, exposure information and insurance related documents required to purchase insurance for assets and operations
  • Negotiate onboarding requirement with lenders and investors through Development and Asset Management team
  • Lead annual insurance renewals and specialty coverages
  • Manage Fairstead insurance allocation
  • Manage and retain insurance brokers, TPAs and third-party risk consultants
  • Create and lead the program for Risk Management training
  • Review incident, claims and losses to identify coverage, program, approve reserves and collaborate with in-house litigation counsel
  • Support the overarching property insurance claim process and support the locations in identifying opportunities for recovery from Property Damage
  • Manage the internal incident reporting process and escalate to claims where warranted
  • Ensure proper record keeping of insurance files for properties and Fairstead
  • Support the growth of Strata Re through carful asset data collection and selection and appropriate property-based “risk control” programs


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Risk Management and/or Insurance
  • Actuarial and underwriting experience beneficial
  • Significant reinsurance experience is a plus
  • Proficient in complex global property insurance programs
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to lead and interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to take initiative, guide and influence others toward goal accomplishment.
  • Eagerness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Maintains high standards of ethics and integrity.
