Job Details Job Title: Senior Safety Compliance Manager Department: Corporate Safety FLSA: Exempt Salary Range: Reports to: Director, Central Services Date Last Revised: Job Summary The overall purpose of the Safety Compliance Manager position is to function as the subject matter expert (SME) for OSHA and DOT regulatory compliance standards, ensure safety program compliance with governmental and corporate safety standards, and to develop, coordinate, and implement safety policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations within the organization. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Safety Central Services, this role will own and develop the safety program in an ISO45001 rubric, ensure safety programs meet company and regulatory standards, ensure OSHA and Fleet Safety compliance, maintain OSHA recordkeeping, and author policies and procedures on technical safety topics. In addition, this role will serve as in-house regulatory support for Safety Field Directors and work closely with other company. As a member of the corporate safety team, the Director of Central Services will support national operations for Darling Ingredients. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Ensures organization's safety compliance with all relevant OSHA regulations, through site and program audits and assessments. Own, drive, and develop the delivery of our Safety management process and programs (ISO-45001). Authors and develops safety policies, programs, and procedures in accordance with company safety management system and regulatory standards. Maintain detailed safety records (e.g., safety inspections, incidents, location OSHA records (300, 300a logs, compliance tracker, corrective / preventive actions, etc.). Collaborate with Corporate Safety team members to ensure developed training meets regulatory standards, safety data aligns with incident tracking and documentation, etc. Support Fleet safety team with procedural development in compliance with DOT and company standards. Provide regional safety directors compliance support as needed. Occasionally perform facility walks, and support location implementation with safety programs as needed. Minimum Qualifications: 10+ years of safety / management / regulatory experience and a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline. Strong demonstrable knowledge of OSHA regulations, guidelines, and best practices. Substantive experience and competency in safety program management, development, and implementation with an eye to compliance, process improvement, and engagement required. Experience in safety procedure and job-aid writing. Strong interpersonal skills: must work well in teams and be able to develop relationships with various levels of management. Demonstrated ability to communicate and write clearly; strong understanding of language. Self-motivated; self-starter. Ability to travel 10% of the time. Highly organized; superior time management skills. Preferred Qualifications: ASP/GSP/CSP, IH certifications, and/or Master's Degree preferred. Strong experience writing procedural documentation; ISO-9001, 45001 experience preferred. Some DOT regulatory experience. Some experience preparing programs and reporting around hazardous chemicals. Heavy industry experience preferred.
