Position Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule for the company. The Senior Manufacturing Planner must have excellent planning and communication skills as well as thorough understanding of production processes and capacity management.
Responsibilities Of The Senior Manufacturing Planner
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule to optimize resource use and ensure timely product delivery
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to align schedules and gather necessary information
- Analyze production data, such as sales forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity, to identify issues and propose solutions
- Monitor production progress, addressing any schedule deviations promptly
- Work with production supervisors and managers to resolve scheduling conflicts and prioritize tasks
- Review the production schedule regularly to identify opportunities for process improvements
- Communicate production schedules to internal teams and external suppliers to ensure alignment and meet customer demand
- Perform short and long-term supply/demand analysis, highlighting concerns and comparing against Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP)
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners throughout the product life cycle to ensure timely new product development (NPD), manage phase-ins and phase-outs, and control inventory
- Proven experience as a Master Scheduler or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- APICS certification (CPIM) a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required
