Jeppesen Sanderson Inc., a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, is currently seeking a Senior Network Designer to join the team in Dallas, TX.

The selected candidate will be joining the team as a Local Area Network (LAN) Designer in our global team. This position will focus on creation and maintenance of network infrastructure in our manufacturing, service, and office locations around the globe.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with Information Technology (IT) Business Partners and stakeholders to implement and maintain communications and network systems enabling the business to meet their organizational and program goals.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Works hybrid network/cloud designer
  • Works in migrating functions and networks to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures
  • Leads the identification, analysis and documentation of requirements for network transport technologies and services
  • Leads and organizes the creation and documentation of network designs
  • Researches, develops, documents and deploys emerging technologies and techniques
  • Prepares, deploys and coordinates installation of complex implementation packages
  • Leads the maintenance of network systems
  • Develops and implements cost control action plans based upon review of internal and sourced infrastructure
  • Leads and coordinates high level implementation planning for strategic multi-technology insertion projects


This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.


  • 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • 5+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Cisco hardware in a corporate environment (Catalyst switches, ASR routers, wireless controllers, access points)
  • 5+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations
  • 5+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network protocols
  • 5+ years of experience supporting network capacity management processes
  • 5+ years of experience communicating effectively with multiple levels of an organization
  • 3+ years of experience in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud and related security services
  • Willing to cover on call shifts, including weekends and after hours


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems
  • CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification
  • Leadership experience


Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position will be for first shift.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $121,500 – $164,450
