SAIC is on the lookout for an exceptional Network Engineer who will not only navigate, but also innovate the currents of our technological ocean. As the digital world expands, you will be the captain steering our network systems towards uncharted territories of operational excellence.

This position is contingent upon award in 2025. Relocation assistance will be considered on a case by case basis.
Program is based out of Patuxent River, MD. Hybrid/onsite options can be available for those in a commutable distance, but you will need to come onsite 2-3 days a week.

The Network Engineer will
- Be responsible with the seamless operation and diligent maintenance of our expansive network systems
- Ensure constant vigilance and agile responsiveness to any issues relating to hardware, software, and overall network functionality
- Play a crucial part in engineering and rolling out sophisticated information networks across multiple platforms including but not limited to local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, extranets, and various other communication frameworks
- Provide active management of our network's operational integrity, entailing prompt troubleshooting and resolution of diverse network complications
- Consult on strategic planning and execution of network designs, performing rigorous modeling and analysis to forecast network needs and scalability, particularly with an eye on integrating cloud-based network solutions
- Architect robust network security protocols to safeguard our data and communications
- Provide ongoing research and evaluation of emerging network hardware and software to ensure our infrastructure remains ahead of the curve
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree
- Must possess a minimum of eight (8) years’ worth of professional experience in engineering networks
- At least two (2) years experience focused on designing and supporting networks within the Department of Defense (DoD) environment
- Have five (5) years experience in
- Secure network architecture and systems design
- Comprehensive analysis of network systems
- Development and execution of testing procedures and documentation
- Hold a deep-seated knowledge of network best practices, along with a proven track record in the implementation and maintenance of secure and efficient network infrastructures
- Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and an understanding of the specific demands of working within DoD-related projects
- Must hold an active Secret clearance
- IAT Level III a CCSP, CCNP-Security; CASP+ or equivalent
