Senior Procurement Specialist

For the Procurement Lead Specialist position our client seeks a HIGH-ENERGY, MOTIVATED individual who is excited to learn and work in a fast-paced setting to drive process improvement
as a strong team player. After thorough training, this position will serve as the right-hand to the Procurement Manager and have a high level of visibility and responsibility.
Job Summary:
The selected candidate will report to the Procurement Operations Manager and provide leadership support to the Procurement Team located in Hampton, VA to ensure Business Unit goals are met through the execution of procurement strategies. Procurement strategies include but are not limited to the security of supply, cost savings, optimization of processes, and supplier risk mitigations. The overall goal is to support production schedule while obtaining the best achievable value for supplies and services while maintaining compliance with company procedures.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Provide daily oversight of the day-to-day executional procurement job functions.
Prepare request for quotes and proposals based on Plant requirements.
Review quotations and perform cost analyses to determine best value based on price, schedule, quality, and capability.
Draft and execute Master Service Agreement Contracts for strategic contracted services suppliers and outside service providers.
Oversee and manage the Plant’s requisition pool and place purchase orders to support production, operations, and inventory needs.
Manage the Oracle Blanket Purchase Order and Electronic Claims Management (ECM) processes.
Monitor all invoices on hold and work with inside requestors and suppliers for resolution.
Work with the Receiving department to reconcile shipping documentation from suppliers.
Collaborates with other departments (Shipping, Operations, Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Quality, Accounts Payable, Etc.) to resolve Plant problems with timely resolution.
Attend Engineering and Facilities meetings to assist with developmental and capital procurements.
Ensure company procurement procedure compliance is met for quality and financial audits.
Responsible for department metrics, reporting and measurement reviews which include Audit Self-Assessment Testing.
Provide excellent and attentive support to overall business operations.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of procurement and financial best practices and compliance (Sarbanes Oxley, UCC Laws, Import/Export Laws, Etc.).
Ability to write and negotiate complex contracts for the obtaining of goods and services.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform metrics and reports on various data collections.
Willingness to frequently visit the shop floor for better understanding of Plant operations.
Customer-oriented personality.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Minimum 6 years’ experience in Procurement, Contracts, or Supply Chain in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ORACLE, or similar type Enterprise Business Systems.
