Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Demonstrate proven time and project management skills.
  • Collaborate with production and quality departments to complete scale-up trials and support QA/QC with troubleshooting as needed.
  • Independently manage time and projects for assigned tasks.
  • Develop work plans to manage project responsibilities.
  • Provide technical guidance on unusual or complex issues.
  • Design finished product formulations that meet standards and specific client needs, including legal, cost, and stability requirements.
  • Work on projects for key customers to ensure commercial success.
  • Refine taste and texture attributes and articulate them clearly with team members.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of ingredients and materials in Product Design.
  • Participate in the generation of new concepts.

Innovation & Technology

  • Support local and regional Creation & Design (C&D) initiatives under managerial direction.
  • Demonstrate new technology in relevant projects.
  • Understand and execute Innovation Programs and processes.
  • Comprehend ingredient functionality and flavor performance in various products and apply technologies appropriately.
  • Assist in developing product and application literature, including Technical Reports.

Customer Engagement & Technical Partnership

  • Provide technical services to customers, including plant trials, troubleshooting, and training.
  • Understand customer needs, category markets, and consumer preferences.
  • Engage with customers through visits, presentations, and technical information sharing regarding taste and texture design concepts.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and related categories.
  • Assist customers through in-house visits, technical inquiries, and conducting seminars when needed.

Leadership

  • Maintain a positive attitude and genuine passion for the work.
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to Trainee/Associate Designers.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Inspire and motivate others to achieve their targets.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the industrial food, ingredient, or flavor industry, with at least 2 years in a specialized area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology or related fields (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology).
  • A Master’s Degree in a related area is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • This role requires on-site work in a lab/pilot plant environment five days a week.
