Sana’s vision is to make healthcare easy.

All of us can agree healthcare is simply too hard in the US. And our members feel that pain day in and day out. We aim to create an experience that simply feels easy when you need to access our healthcare system. If you need something, you know where to go to get it with care that is a click (or as few clicks as possible!) away.

What’s beautiful about a vision oriented toward “easy” is how it imparts a singular feeling. We instinctively know as humans when something is easy versus hard, even if we can’t explain why. We fight as a company to make an easy pathway available to all our members at every stage of their healthcare journey. If you feel passionate about delivering better healthcare to small businesses through a seamless care experience and affordable benefits, join us!

To support these efforts, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to push the boundaries of delivering convenient, simple, personalized, and high-quality health benefits and care. You’ll report to our Director of Product and work closely with our highly collaborative product marketing, design, engineering, data, clinical, operations, and growth colleagues to support our external platforms for brokers, company admins, and members as well as internal tools for our operations and clinical teams. If you thrive on variety, are eager to roll up your sleeves, take initiative, and love to distill big, complex problems (healthcare!) into delightful and understandable experiences that our internal teams can efficiently deliver – we’d love to hear from you!

What You Will Do:

  • Gather, define, and prioritize product requirements from customers, members, brokers, and internal employees through user interviews, surveys, employee shadowing, market research, and other methods to champion user and business needs
  • Craft and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your domains, aligning with company goals and iterating based on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Translate business and user needs into clear product requirements, including user stories, use cases, and functional specifications
  • Act as a product advocate, conducting demos, training sessions, and presentations for various internal stakeholders
  • Develop and refine product positioning and messaging alongside the Product Marketing team as well as support go-to-market for product launches
  • Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives to drive prioritization, ensure timely and efficient delivery, and ensure that everyone’s rowing together
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to make data-driven decisions
  • Ship it! Speed is our greatest advantage versus legacy incumbents. We can try new models, pivot, and iterate faster than larger carriers. Lean into that advantage by getting products and features into the real world!

About You:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant product management experience with prior experience at a healthcare and/or insurtech start-up a plus
  • Strategic thinker with a bias for action. You bring a proven track record of driving vision, crafting strategies to shape product direction, and delivering results day-in and day-out
  • Advocate for the User. You know what a fantastic experience looks like and advocate for it, from the technical infrastructure to the messaging and UX
  • Strong Technical Aptitude. You are comfortable diving into technical problems (e.g., APIs) and communicating solutions effectively across teams -- from engineers to business owners
  • Collaborative Leader. You possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and work with cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment
  • Outstanding Communicator. You know how to both listen and get the message out, whether it’s in-person, over the phone, in writing, via email, slack, carrier pigeon, etc
  • You are hungry for more knowledge. You ask questions from a place of genuine curiosity and humility. You assume the best intentions without shying away from solutions-oriented debate. You meet your teammates with compassionate candor to solve problems together for our customers
  • You remain flexible, and resilient, and foster a culture of continuous learning even in the face of hardship. You take care of yourself so you can be there to support your teammates.
  • You bring a bias for action paired with intelligent risk-taking. You keep the ball moving forward at each step; take action and make a decision even with imperfect data. You make bold bets to positively impact the healthcare industry while recognizing the potential friction that comes with innovation
  • You embrace responsibility. You follow through on your commitments and foster trust with your colleagues. You own your mistakes and are accountable to others, knowing everyone shares in our success through equity in Sana
