LastPass is looking for a Senior Public Relations Manager:

The LastPass Corporate Communications team is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, and savvy PR professional for the role of Senior Public Relations Manager. The corporate communications team drives and protects LastPass’ corporate reputation globally, helping our stakeholders better understand our company, our technology and impact. We are a thoughtful and forward-thinking team of communicators who are passionate about storytelling and generating results.

The right person for this role thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where a point of view and savviness of high stakes corporate and media issues are a must. In essence, we’re seeking a communicator who can wield words with precision, navigate complex narratives, and exude confidence even in the face of challenging scenarios.

Who will you work with?

Reporting directly to the Corporate Communications Director, we seek an exceptional candidate with a track record of impactful in-house corporate communications as well as agency experience and includes direct support of a cybersecurity (preferred) and/or technology, companies.

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

  • PR Strategy: Support and implement the execution of communication and media relations programs in partnership with cross-functional teams across the marketing, partner/channel, product, security, and support departments and the business. Work with a wider team to drive an always-on communications program and a proactive storytelling program.
    • Identify and tell compelling stories beyond major product moments, securing earned media coverage.
    • Understand the communications landscape and needs of various audiences, regularly updating and evolving materials to reflect changes in business priorities, supporting narratives, and the external environment.
  • Thought Leadership: Drive consistency in all corporate messaging and Q&As; advance LastPass' corporate narrative and executive thought leadership content that educates key audiences on LastPass’ point of view, products, and policies across all channels, including press, digital, speaking opportunities, events, and analyst relations.
  • Innovative Storytelling: Accelerate LastPass’ media momentum through innovative storytelling efforts across traditional and new channels. Adopt multimedia and cross-channel strategies to break through among key audiences.
  • Practices & Processes: Build best-in-class communications practices and processes that will drive efficiency in how LastPass’ communications team operates.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and partner with internal stakeholders to coordinate with social, internal communications, and global teams to further amplify content and/or news.
  • Manage US and international agencies and teams to support PR activities.
  • Experience managing a rapid response process around breaking threat intelligence research/news.
  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively.
  • Ensure press releases, bylines, and other content are optimized for SEO and readability.
  • Work with our PR agency to track and report key metrics monthly and quarterly, evaluating earned media coverage, share-of-voice, competitor moves, and opportunities to grow and improve. Lean on data to inform key learnings and reevaluate future PR strategies.

What does it take to work at LastPass?

  • Corporate communications and media relations experience; experience in cybersecurity.
  • Exceptional communication capabilities, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate nuanced issues, strategies, and briefs clearly.
    • Writing samples of recent press releases, pitches, bylines, and/or blogs are required in this application process.
  • Business maturity and experience working and communicating cross-functionally with all roles, departments, and levels of seniority within the organization, including senior executives.
  • Ability to fluidly navigate between strategy and execution.
    • Can develop high-level strategic plans and produce crisp, clear communications that drive results.
  • Top-notch decision-making skills: ability to prioritize among competing opportunities and articulate the rationale behind decisions.
  • Comfortable leading multiple projects at once and shifting quickly when needed to deliver on tight turnarounds.
  • Experience and passion for rapid response and crisis communications, including shaping complicated stories.

It's great, but not required:

  • Can distill complex technology topics into digestible, relatable content; can work with spokespeople to deliver that content through facilitated media interviews.
  • Natural and intellectual curiosity, regularly thinks of ways to do things differently, more efficiently, and with greater productivity.
  • An understanding of social media preferred.
  • A good sense of humor is a must.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $120,000 in the lowest geographic market and up to $140,000 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
