Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer will take an active role in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements including APQP, PPAP, customer concerns and customer visits, gauging, process control plans, supplier issues, IATF16969/ISO9001/ISO14001 elements, and customer specific requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Lead and initiate ongoing continuous improvement activities to yield cost savings.
Implement and maintain customer specific requirements.
Manage the warranty process as required.
Will be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Engineer will take an active role in the implementation and maintenance of all quality system requirements including APQP, PPAP, customer concerns and customer visits, gauging, process control plans, supplier issues, IATF16969/ISO9001/ISO14001 elements, and customer specific requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Represent the Quality Manager in his/her absence on current production and customer concerns.
- Track sample submissions as needed including the development and updating of control plans, PFMEAs, and process flow charts. Conduct R & R studies to support control plan testing requirements.
- Monitor production floor processes for conformance to control plans and customer requirements.
- Take an active role in Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP). Interface with plant, Engineering, customer, Purchasing and production personnel to enhance introduction of new parts into production. Interface with shipping department on the development of packaging plans.
- Develop and implement SPC activities when required.
- Perform capability studies on new jobs and in other situations where they are needed.
- Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA) and control plan audits.
- Comply with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Perform internal audits at all BRC locations.
- Conduct ongoing employee quality training.
Lead and initiate ongoing continuous improvement activities to yield cost savings.

Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Engineering degree is a plus.
- 3 -35 years' experience in a Quality or Engineering role, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to support and/or lead root cause analysis, disciplined problem-solving and decision-making processes.
- Proven leadership, interpersonal skills and personal development skills.
- Working knowledge on manufacturing processes and environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and MiniTab.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
