The Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine serves to fulfill the tripartite mission of all academic departments contributing to patient care, education, and discovery that leads to new therapeutics. Patients benefit from state-of-the-art care utilizing advanced medical technologies. The interest of the laboratory is to understand the immune system dysregulation in autoimmune diseases. Our work is funded by the NIH , Patient Advocacy Groups, industry contracts and donations to the Laboratory for Myasthenia Gravis Research. To achieve that goal the laboratory is dedicated to the pathogenesis of myasthenia gravis. Our therapy development program spans preclinical programs, clinical trials, biomarker discovery, and basic research on the autoimmune process.
We are seeking a Senior Research Assistant to perform research/development activities focused on interrogation of multiple -omic data sets including clinical information related to myasthenia gravis. The core responsibilities of this position include assisting with data collection and analysis with detailed observations based on literature review. Individual will assist senior level researchers in presentation of results for publication and research publications. This role may contribute to technical reports and documentation of outcomes.
Duties Include
Conduct research in computational biology with a focus on analyzing molecular immunology data.
Utilizing various sequencing approaches, including ChIP-Seq, RNA -Seq, and ATAC -Seq, you will analyze genome-wide distribution of chromatin modifications and DNA -binding factors, as well as global gene expression.
Interact with clinical team to acquire data for analysis.
Perform training sessions with the staff in the equipment operation and research techniques.
Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
Compile results and prepare experimental technical reports and documentation of outcomes.
This position performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS and 1 year of experience in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
