Senior Research Editor

This is a 15-20hr a week part time role

IANS is seeking a part-time Research Editor to support our Ask-an-Expert line of polls and transcriptions. The individual should have strong attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to ensure every product meets IANS' high standards for quality and insightfulness. Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Edit and format subject matter experts' answers to client-driven poll questions, ensuring all answers are succinct and easy to read and that all documents are error-free and client-ready. Write all headlines, fully anonymize client questions and be able to understand technical content enough to include links to related IANS content. Must be comfortable working in Word and PDF; experience using Salesforce is a plus.
  • Write up IANS client call transcript summaries, ensuring calls are fully anonymized and faculty's primary recommendations are clear and complete. Format the final transcript, highlighting key points within the text and building an easy-to-follow table of contents. Work with IANS editors to ensure the final deliverable is high-quality and accepted by both subject matter experts and clients.

Skills

  • Expert-level editing, writing and communication skills
  • Has produced technical/IT security content
  • Expert-level experience with Adobe PDF and Microsoft Office suite, especially Word
  • Working knowledge of AP style. Salesforce expertise preferred.
