Description
Position Title: Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist, Cell Differentiation
Reports to: Dar Heinze, Associate Director, Cell Differentiation
Company Background
Century Therapeutics is developing novel allogeneic living cell products for oncology that overcome the limitations of current cell therapies. Century’s genetically-engineered, universal iPSC-derived immune effector cell products are designed to specifically target hematologic and solid tumor cancers. Our commitment to developing off-the-shelf cell therapies will expand patient access and provide an unparalleled opportunity to advance the course of cancer care.
Century’s foundational technology is built on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that have unlimited self-renewing capacity. This enables complex cellular engineering to produce controlled cell banks of modified cells that can be expanded and differentiated into desired immune effector cells, which can supply vast amounts of allogeneic, homogeneous therapeutic products. This platform differentiates Century from other approaches that utilize non-renewable donor-derived cells.
Position Summary
We seek an outstanding T-cell and/or hematopoietic developmental biologist, highly motivated to optimize Century’s iPSC-derived T cell differentiation platform. Reporting to the head of T cell differentiation, the ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of hematopoietic differentiation, thymic T cell development, recent thymic emigrants/post thymic maturation, and T cell biology. The scientist will be expected to establish scientific and technical leadership in the lab with an initial focus on the optimization of T cell maturation.
The candidate should have a proven track record of scientific accomplishment and scientific leadership. Management experience is required. This person will be instrumental in establishing our company’s scientific culture and will have ample opportunity to play a leadership role as the company grows. The individual will collaborate with other scientific leaders committed to developing the next-generation of life-saving cellular medicines.
