What is the opportunity?
As we establish the US Tech Strategy and Architecture transformation office at RBC US, (encompassing five US lines of business), we are seeking an experienced Principal, Strategy and Transformation with a strong focus on US industry technology and business expertise. This role will be instrumental in shaping our technology strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As we establish the US Tech Strategy and Architecture transformation office at RBC US, (encompassing five US lines of business), we are seeking an experienced Principal, Strategy and Transformation with a strong focus on US industry technology and business expertise. This role will be instrumental in shaping our technology strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
What will you do?
Technology Strategy Development:
- Contribute to the development of the technology strategy and roadmap, aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define strategic priorities and initiatives for technology transformation.
- Drive the execution of strategic initiatives, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed.
- Develop comprehensive business cases for technology investments, outlining potential benefits, risks, and ROI.
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate existing technology platforms, solutions, and architectures to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Assess new technologies and vendors, conducting due diligence and making recommendations for adoption.
- Partner with business stakeholders, IT teams, and other functional areas to understand their technology needs and priorities.
- Facilitate collaboration and communication to ensure alignment between business and technology strategies.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of technology initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards to track progress against strategic goals and objectives.
Must-have
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, technology management, or a related field 10+ years of experience with a focus on strategy consulting, technology strategy, or related roles
- Experience in the US banking or financial services industry.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and draw actionable insights.
- Proficient in financial analysis, business modeling, and strategic planning methodologies.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex business problems.
- Exception written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concept clearly and concisely.
- Solid understanding of technology trends, architectures, and solutions, with a focus on digital transformation and innovation.
- Advanced degree, MBA, or related studies and certifications.
