We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and construction of both vertical (buildings) and horizontal (bridges, roads, and infrastructure) projects, ensuring they are safe, functional, and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and analysis of structural projects, including both vertical and horizontal structures.
Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated solutions.
Mentor and supervise junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Stay current with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Participate in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
Perform structural calculations and simulations using advanced engineering software.
Qualifications
Registered PE
10+ years required / 15+ preferred
Bachelor's degree in Civil or related field required / Master's in Structural preferred
Experience with WMATA preferred
Proficient in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Revit, AutoCAD).
Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASCE).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proven track record of managing and delivering successful projects.
