Position: Senior Technical Assistant - Audio Engineer
Department: Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services – LPAC
Hourly Range: $26.79 - $31.01
Classification: Temporary
Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible
Job Summary
The position operates under the supervision of the LPAC Stage Manager and is responsible for one or more of the following: mixing/programming audio for in-house, touring and rental artists as required, audio support and setups for outdoor events as needed and audio equipment maintenance.
The position is highly visible and requires extensive contact with amateur and professional performing arts organizations, as well as the general public. The position supervises Stage Assistants.

Job Summary

Supervisory Responsibilities
- None
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Familiarity with live audio mixing and stage audio setup requirements
- Yamaha CL-5 console mixing and Dante/Rio protocols
- Soundcraft Qu series mixing
- Counterweight rigging and fly rail operation skills
- Personnel lift operation skills
- Setting audio stage plots, audio snake cabling, distro power feeds
- Ability to set and complete goals with minimal supervision
- Ability to work accurately, under pressure, on multiple tasks
- Experience working in a roadhouse
- Knowledge of audio maintenance procedures
- Ability to operate Yamaha mixing control and apps
- Experience in audio mixing for dance, music, and theatre performances
- Familiarity with projection audio systems
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends
- Customer service skills

- Ability to organize
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions

- Any equivalent combination of three or more years of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.
- Currently enrolled in a college, university, or trade school majoring in Theatre Arts, Film, Television, or a related field, is desirable.
