As our studio's pioneering VFX Artist, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing high-quality visual effects that elevate the player experience to new heights. In this exciting role, you'll collaborate closely with talented cross-functional teams to craft visually compelling and technically proficient effects that align seamlessly with the artistic vision of our projects. Your expertise in Unreal Engine and mastery of real-time and pre-baked destruction techniques will be key to bringing our games to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a VFX artist in the gaming industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine, particularly with its particle systems, shader creation, and Chaos.
  • Excellent understanding of real-time VFX techniques and principles.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard VFX tools such as Houdini, Maya, or After Effects.
  • Strong artistic sense with a keen eye for detail, color, composition, and timing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex VFX issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other game engines and proprietary VFX tools.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Unreal Engine's Blueprint.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques for VFX.
  • Understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) and how it applies to VFX.
  • Passion for gaming and a strong understanding of how VFX can enhance gameplay experiences.
  • Published titles on PC or consoles using Unreal Engine.

Compensation Range: The expected annual base pay ranges reflected in this job description are applicable to individuals residing in or working within a designated location. Any final compensation offer will depend on various factors. As part of an overall package, NetEase employees can take advantage of NetEase's comprehensive benefits and discretionary incentive plans, provided that they comply with the policies and guidelines governing those programs. This role has a base salary range of $130,000 - $175,000 USD if the hire will be based in the US.
