Sheet Metal Fabricator

We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator / TIG Welder to join our team. As a Sheet Metal Fabricator / TIG Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding various types of sheet metal products using TIG welding techniques. You will also help with computer programming on the various equipment within the shop. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings to determine specifications and requirements for fabrication.
  • Layout and fabricate sheet metal.
  • Program the layout design on equipment for various jobs.
  • Select and prepare materials for fabrication, including sheet metal, pipes, and tubes.
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to join and weld sheet metal components.
  • Perform welding tasks on various types of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of welds by conducting visual inspections and using measuring tools.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain and organize work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with teammates and communicate effectively to ensure project requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator with TIG Welding and computer program experience.
  • Ability to TIG weld thin gauge metal.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficient in TIG welding on various materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Safety-conscious mindset and ability to follow safety guidelines.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Welding certifications and training is a plus.

We are willing to train the right person who has experience with TIG welding and knows computers. This position is at our Shop in our Williston Vermont location. They typically work a 6:30 am - 3:00 pm schedule daily with overtime during busy times.
