General Description The Safety Manager manages the overall safety and health for each project assigned. In addition, this position oversees the subcontractor and vendor on-site personnel from a safety perspective, including any safety representatives assigned to their projects. This position serves as the primary point of contact for safety related programs/incidents and interfaces with clients. Duties
Leads project safety and health initiatives for each project assigned
Oversees subcontractor and vendor on-site personnel from a safety perspective
Proactively helps and supports crew members to achieve a safe work environment
Collaborates with Construction operations to support weekly safety meetings
Conducts project observations
Communicates with client safety representatives
Conducts Safety onboarding training for new crew members
Conducts accident and incident investigations
Reviews and understands all project specific safety requirements, customer safety requirements, and QISG safety requirements; ensures compliance at project sites
Reviews subcontractor safety plans
Creates and updates safety plans
Ensures proper reporting from subcontractors (JHA’s, tailboards, etc.)
Manages project roster and ensures adequate training for all field personnel
Performs any other duties assigned
Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
Required Experience and Education
High school diploma, or equivalent
4+ years’ experience in a safety role within high voltage substation, transmission, and distribution construction environments
