Social Media Content Creator - Freelance

Frank Darling is an online female-founded fine jewelry brand making custom engagement rings more accessible than ever before. We’ve been featured in Vogue, WSJ, Bloomberg, Glossy, and a number of other publications for our design, sustainability, and modern take on the bridal category.

We have an immediate, opening for a social media content creator. The ideal candidate is highly creative and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills. S/he is a creative problem solver with a can-do attitude.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• 3+ years social media experience at a brand or agency with a portfolio of work showcasing still, short and long-form video work for social media.
• You know what’s trending on social media before it blows up; and can respond ASAP to trends/memes in a variety of content types.
• You’re proficient in industry-standard video and graphic design software – Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, and CapCut (Adobe Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, CaptureOne Pro is a plus)
• Experience in the full social content production lifecycle (ideation, storyboarding, design, videography, photography, etc.), professional camera systems, lighting, shooting, retouching, and color grading.
• Visually proficient creative with an understanding of graphic design, composition, and typography and an eye for details and elevated aesthetics.
• Self-initiated creative with exceptional time & project management skills
• Solid interpersonal skills and passion for engaging with our social media communities
• You’re a highly organized person able to work with high-value items responsibly
• Knowledge of the jewelry or gemology is a plus (but not a must)

Responsibilities:

• The Social Media Content Creator will be an integral part of our Social Media and Content Team, reporting directly to our Director of Social Strategy & Content
• 70%: Lead social media content creation primarily for Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest. 
• Create content franchises that engage, educate, entertain, and inspire, crafted to resonate with the Frank Darling community.
• Create content strongly informed by the knowledge of trends, cultural moments, and visual aesthetics.
• Inform ideas based on platform-specific trends, updates, and unique features
• 20%: Write short-form copy for social posts and stories
• 10%: Run day-to-day community management and posting
• Contribute to the development of the always-on content calendar and social-first campaigns, reporting, and analytics against relevant KPIs.

Role:

• 20-40 hours a week on / off site at our studio in Tribeca
• The ideal person would be interested in transitioning to an on site role over time as the opportunity arises
