The Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing outbound and inbound social media posts and communications. This role will possess a passion for a fast-paced environment, independent problem solving with an eye for detail. You know what gamers and players want, sometimes even before they do. You understand what it takes to turn a skeptical audience into a healthy, engaged community. You love to follow events and news in the gaming space and enjoy creating social media content.

This position will sit onsite in Grapevine, 5 days a week.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Execute the broader social media strategy and guidelines that align with overall marketing objectives and brand guidelines, inclusive of influencer management and channel expansion strategies.
• Create, curate, schedule and publish engaging content across various social media platforms, including stills, product review and reveal videos, live streams, in-store event coverage, industry event coverage, user-generated content, and industry talent interviews.
• Monitor and analyze channel and campaign performance to identify areas of improvement and optimize content strategies.
• Manage content calendar, community and establish relationships through social response in a timely and professional manner.
• Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and share knowledge with the broader team.
• Be independently curious about the ever-changing social media landscape and proactively suggest innovative ideas to enhance GameStop's social media presence.

Requirements

• Passion for video games and a solid understanding of the gaming industry.
• 1+ years of experience in social media management, preferably in the gaming or entertainment industry.
• Proficient knowledge of Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and effectively prioritize tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive, self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Proven track record of creating entertaining social media content
• Strong knowledge of how users, brands and influencers, engage on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, etc.
• Proficiency in creating original content and utilizing content editing/creation tools and software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and strong editing abilities.
• Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel minimally to various stores for local coverage and participate in domestic travel for trade shows, publisher events, video game midnight releases, etc. (20%)
