Special Education Teacher - Contract

Position Overview: The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking a contracted full-time Special Education Teacher to support students at Sarah Reed Children's Center - Hamilton Campus. This is for a therapeutic learning classroom for grades 5 - 8.

Pay Rate: $44.66

Coverage to begin on (or around) October 25th, 2024, through March 7th, 2025.

Schedule: Monday-Friday- 7:30am-3:00pm (half hour duty free lunch)

Location: Hamilton Campus

Required Qualifications

PA Instructional Certificate: Special Education PK - 8 or Special Education PK-12

Desired Qualifications

Certification in regular education

Experience utilizing Positive Behavior Supports

Knowledge of various disability categories (i.e. Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language)

Essential Functions

Developing lessons and teaching children in classrooms

Conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for services

Writing Evaluation Reports and Individualized Education Plans for students

Providing services as determined through the IEP process

Inputting data utilizing the PELICAN system
