Responsibilities Of The Specialist Of Professional Development Design, Math

  • Create and design PD materials (Desmos Activities, speaker notes, Participant Notebooks, handouts, videos, etc.) for synchronous in-person and remote professional development sessions for teachers and leaders to support strong program implementation of Amplify’s Math products
  • Create and design PD materials for users’ asynchronous self-study
  • Train and support facilitators
  • Support the PD team with ongoing resource updates, team documentation, and platform updates
  • Create resources aligned to Amplify branding guidelines
  • Copyedit session resources, including Activity screens, speaker notes, participant resources, and asynchronous resources
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with the Amplify Desmos Math K-5 or 6-A1 curricula, ideally through curriculum design or PLS onboarding
  • Demonstrated proficiency building instructional materials in Activity Builder
  • Experience in instructional and graphic design
  • Proven knowledge of current math best practices, Common Core math Standards, and adult learning principles
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology-based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Applications, video conferencing tools, etc.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field or comparable experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience teaching and/or coaching Amplify Math or Desmos Math
  • Experience designing in-person or remote professional development sessions for teachers and/or leaders
  • Understanding and compassion for the role of the teachers and leaders
  • Experience working with diverse student populations (English learners, SPED, Gifted/Talented, etc.)
  • Proficiency with WordPress and Adobe
  • Demonstrated client/partnership management experience
  • Master’s or Advanced Degree in Education

Compensation

The hourly rate range for this role is $40-$45.
