This position in Global Supplier Development is responsible for supporting development and implementing key strategies for the management of commodity based suppliers within Castings, Forgings, Machining, and Mechanical Fabrications across Collins Aerospace. This position will support the resolution of technical and engineering issues within the above commodities. Working in concert with the Supplier Performance teams in each global region, Commodity Management, and Supply Chain this person will develop suppliers to align with the growth plans of Collins Aerospace. The focus will be on increased capability, capacity, and quality.

What You Will Do:

  • Strengthen our technical supply base through capability development
  • Resolves engineering and technical issues related to focus commodity including on-site support
  • Develop models for managing capacity and quality for commodity
  • Active participation in commodity initiatives and strategy
  • Conducts gap analysis between business unit quality and technical requirements
  • Performs and trains others in the auditing and qualification of Castings and Forgings suppliers
  • Comparison of existing Casting and Forging Material and Process Specifications across Collins Aerospace
  • Reviews and recommends specifications for future use in engineering designs.
  • Provide technical support to suppliers through RFQ and award process
  • Assist in conducting New Supplier Entry Assessment to support induction of supplier(s) to Collins approved supplier list.
  • Champion VA/VE engineering projects to support cost reduction
  • Conduct "should cost" analysis to support RFQ, bid analysis and award negotiations
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time ( 40% domestic / 10% international)

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • 5+ years experience in the development, auditing, qualification, and performance of castings, forgings and machining.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in AS9100 or similar Quality Management Systems
  • Can provide leadership and guidance within a team
  • Previous experience with development of regional strategies
  • Leadership experience both with direct reports and managing the expectations of internal customers and cross functional teams.
  • Previous experience with aircraft products.
  • Previous experience with Aerospace Castings and Forgings Material Specifications
  • Previous experience with Machining material specifications
  • Previous experience with Raw Material specifications

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
