Job Description

You will lead the charge in crafting and executing a dynamic roadmap to elevate the MoneyGeek brand. If you're passionate about guiding people to their "financial happy place," a core mission at MoneyGeek, this role is your opportunity to shine. You'll be at the forefront of our social media strategy, bringing creativity and energy to platforms like TikTok, YouTube Instagram and others. You are a driver of growth of brands. From uncovering the secrets of credit card point hacking to helping families save on auto insurance, securing personal loans for small businesses, and teaching kids the magic of compound interest, your content will inspire and educate. Role & Responsibilities


Objective: Elevate MoneyGeek’s Brand

Drive brand recognition and establish MoneyGeek as a trusted and influential name in personal finance by cultivating an engaged audience passionate about finding their financial happy place.

  • Brand Champion: Act as MoneyGeek’s internal brand advocate, fostering a culture of continuous brand growth. This includes include partnering with a brand agency, driving selected recommendations from concept to action, owning copy and messaging related to brand across customer facing website, homepage, about us page, outbound email marketing and social media platforms. 
  • Content Creation for Social Media: Create engaging TikTok and YouTube videos to grow our social media presence and increase brand awareness. Repurpose across relevant channels. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to recommend products, tools, and content that enable marketing and brand growth initiatives. This includes creating business cases and high level requirements / acceptance criteria for recommended products. 
  • Develop and Execute Growth Marketing Campaigns : Craft innovative campaigns that drive key performance indicators (KPIs) and expand MoneyGeek’s reach. These include branded search, social media engagement (likes, followers, referrals, subscribers), inclusion in recognized brand portals with difficult barriers to entry (e.g. Wikipedia). 
  • External partnerships: Research the market, create guardrails and process for industry partnerships to accelerate brand awareness for MoneyGeek. This may include partnerships with schools, personal finance related organizations, or relevant influencers to help amplify our brand. Drive process and close partnership deals / experiments. 
  • Strategic Campaign Management: Brainstorm and execute newsworthy product launches and marketing campaigns that generate PR buzz and drive revenue. This may include creating press releases, videos, on site articles / copy for new products, tools, partnerships, contests to amplify our brand awareness. 
  • Wikipedia inclusion: Drive strategy and execution for MoneyGeek's inclusion in Wikipedia, resulting in a dedicated page for MoneyGeek. 
  • Team: build a team of A players over time to grow your organization's impact to MoneyGeek's future. 


Platforms and KPIs to Manage

  • Platforms: YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit/Quora, Influencer Marketing Campaigns/Partnerships, Wikipedia. 
  • KPIs: Social media growth (follower count, engagement rates, video views), content performance (views, shares, interactions), brand awareness (mentions, brand sentiment analysis), PR/marketing campaign success (media coverage, press mentions, traffic growth), Google branded search growth, Wikipedia inclusion. 


Experience and Qualifications

  • Social Media Execution and Industry Expertise: Experience in creating social media videos and content across multiple social platforms. Proven growth in followers/views, either for a brand or personally.
  • Personal Finance Credibility and Passion: Demonstrated interest and experience in personal finance. Leverage your background to establish and maintain credibility in the personal finance space.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leveraged data analytics to measure campaign performance and inform future strategies.
  • Brand Marketing Campaign Strategy and Execution: Experience in creating brand roadmaps, demonstrating growth and amplifying the reach and awareness of a brand.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Provided guidance and/or user research to enhance understanding of customer needs and ensure they are central to all initiatives. Experience with UserTesting.com or similar products a plus. 
  • Education: Bachelors or higher degree from a top university with a degree in finance, business, economics or related subject area. CFA, CFP or related certification in the field a big plus.
