Job Title

The Omnicell Sr. Manager, Instructional Design will serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders in customer and field education and the Instructional Design team to provide an optimal educational experience for these audiences. This role will lead and mentor a team of instructional designers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment of training programs with organizational goals and develop and implement instructional design strategies and best practices. This role requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Instructional Designers and Sr. Instructional Designers to ensure effective performance, establish priorities, balance workload, evaluate performance, and resolve problems promptly
  • Collaborate with Principal Instructional Designers to identify and assign the appropriate resources for creation and ongoing maintenance of instructional materials
  • Collaborate with employee and customer training resources to establish organizational training priorities
  • Cultivate and maintain complex relationships with global SMEs in an environment with short deadlines and high business impact
  • Evaluate approach to content creation and delivery to lead production of innovative and effective training materials
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to advocate for and ensure timely access to resources required to create training, including test and demo environments and SMEs
  • Collaborate with Field Multimedia team to identify opportunities to produce and implement video-based training where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain brand-compliant course templates, models, standards, and procedures
  • Evaluate and implement a quality assurance process to ensure materials are current, accurate, and in keeping with team standards
  • Perform initial needs analysis, scope projects, and evaluate existing content to identify the most appropriate training approach
  • Oversee the design and development of a range of instructional materials, such as self-paced learning, class participant guides, presentation materials, job aids, assessments, certification exams, and evaluations.
  • Provide consultative advice on education and solution best practices during the content development process
  • Manage quarterly project workstreams and advanced technologies with team members.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in instructional design and educational technology
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms for enhancing learning experiences
  • Create learning content for large scale projects when needed


Required Knowledge And Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written, verbal)
  • Ability to measure, evaluate, and develop training needs of multiple levels of staff
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and prioritization skills
  • Expert knowledge in traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple complex priorities with demanding timeframes


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years content development and training experience for customers and field employees
  • 3+ years leading training team projects and working cross-functionally with other technical and non-technical teams


Preferred Knowledge And Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Instructional Design or Adult Learning


Work Conditions

  • Overnight travel up to 30%
  • Work multiple US time zones as necessary to accommodate business needs
