Sr. Manager, Power and Policy

Reports To

Senior Vice President, Sustainability

The Job

The Sr. Manager, Power & Policy works closely with corporate executives to help develop power and policy plans, site location growth plans and drive execution. This individual will be critically involved in strategic planning, problem solving, and making decisions impacting our business. The Sr. Manager, Power & Policy engages with external stakeholders and internal stakeholders across multiple business units to ensure alignment and participation on strategic initiatives. The Power & Policy Manager will engage in negotiations with external parties and will assist in the packaging of materials for internal and external support of key power and policy initiatives. The Sr. Manager will be a key contributor of strategic insight as related to power, policy and site selection activities and will apply critical thinking to organizational evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with corporate executives and cross functional teams across the organization
  • Work closely with utility partners, economic agency partners, community partners, elected officials and property representatives
  • Develop, lead, and implement power and site selection policies and initiatives
  • Manage multiple initiative workstreams, ensuring communication externally and across the organization and ensuring activities stay on track
  • Collection and analysis of internal & external information to develop strategic recommendations in each subject matter area
  • Coordination and support of discussions among stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years of experience at a top tier management consulting firm, energy, economic development or policy experience, preferred.
  • Exceptionally strong analytical ability, communication skills, and work ethic.
  • Comfortable working with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to be a self-starter by working independently to identify and/or complete tasks, and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously while interacting professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Experience in leading projects
  • Advanced level of analysis and presentation development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skill
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis, with direction & support
  • Ability to create and support delivery of presentation materials to varying levels of audiences
  • Ability to prioritize work by setting and meeting realistic deadlines, forecasting and communicating changes resulting from risks and issues

This job operates in a remote/office environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 20 pounds.  

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, onsite position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. some nights and weekends may be required.
