Position Overview

As a Senior Performance Engineer at Alkami, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to revolutionize the financial industry. In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate with top-tier software development teams to amplify the performance, scalability, and reliability of our cutting-edge applications, systems, and networks. Your mission? To ensure our products run smoother, faster, and more efficiently than ever before.

As the driving force behind performance optimization, you'll own the development and upkeep of performance automation test execution. Dive into the trenches, troubleshoot issues, and seamlessly collaborate across development teams to keep our systems running at peak performance.

But that's not all – you'll also be the guardian of our automation test toolings and frameworks, ensuring they're finely tuned and ready to tackle any challenge that comes our way. Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Accountable for product releases that meet the performance release criteria for successful deployment to production.
  • Work independently to execute performance tests, promptly investigate issues, and efficiently resolve request tickets, demonstrating strong ownership in triaging and following up on all performance-related matters.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining automated test suites, consistently improving test coverage while optimizing and stabilizing test executions.
  • Contribute to test tooling evaluation, continuously evolving the tooling strategy with a focus on adopting industry-leading technologies.
  • Leverage existing CI/CD tools and frameworks to seamlessly integrate performance automated test suites into deployment pipelines.
  • Actively contribute to the enhancement of Quality Engineering processes and best practices, participating in code reviews and quality discussions.
  • Ensure performance standards are met at each development phase.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, SRE, Ops, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on system performance goals.
  • Lead the update and maintenance of load test environments, oversee test data creations, and ensure correct configurations based on testing requirements.
  • Perform performance regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not introduce unexpected issues. Monitor and provide timely updates for the automated regression suites on any recent changes.
  • Analyze application architecture to develop effective performance tests at the appropriate layers, collaborating with senior team members to review design and framework specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of proven track records in delivering high quality product releases through effective performance testing and executions.
  • Exhibit keen attention to detail in meticulously conducting performance testing and analyzing results for comprehensive evaluation.
  • Showcase a relentless nature in problem-solving, committed to deep-diving into performance issues until the root cause is identified and addressed.
  • Proficiency in coding using one or more programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, C#), showcasing a strong coding foundation.
  • Possess extensive knowledge in SQL, T-SQL, or PL/SQL, demonstrating a deep understanding of database systems.
  • Exhibit proficiency in performance or automation framework architecture, with hands-on working experience in performance automation test frameworks and metrics measurements.
  • Have extensive experience in using code management tools such as IntelliJ, VSCode, Git, and VS Team, ensuring efficient version control and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in CI/CD practices, utilizing tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, etc., for seamless integration of performance testing into development pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Desired Skills

  • Master degree in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and software design concepts, be able to effectively communicate with developers, SRE, Ops.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and devise effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes, Redis, Cloud Native Infrastructure.
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud.
