Sr. Research Manager, Growth Accelerator

We are seeking a Sr. Research Manager with a strong market research background and a passion for solving unique problems to help us drive world class market research, and drive success of Amazon’s Undiscovered and Small Business partners. Our ideal candidate is someone who is curious and customer obsessed, and loves solving complex problems. You enjoy building things from scratch, are comfortable with change and ambiguity, and relish the chance to solve hard problems in short order. You recognize that the true measure of success of your work is based on the business impact your findings have over time.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead design and execution of primary research studies (leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methods) to generate actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholder teams like marketing, product, education, and partnerships
  • Lead research and analysis that helps measure the impact of program initiatives on seller perception metrics
  • Lead foundational research to help understand undiscovered small business lifecycle/ journey and to uncover unmet needs
  • Design nimble mechanisms to scale quantitative and qualitative research solutions, tools and processes
  • Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners

About The Team

Undiscovered Small Business Accelerator (USBA) helps drive the success of small and historically underrepresented business populations (including minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses). As a part of the USBA, Amazon has committed to empower Black entrepreneurs through the Black Business Accelerator (BBA), which provides access to educational, financial and advisory resources that support Black-owned business owners succeed as sellers in Amazon’s store.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience communicating results to stakeholders
  • 6+ years experience conducting end to end quantitative and qualitative research (e.g., identifying appropriate research methods, designing, executing, analyzing, and drafting actionable recommendations from primary research), with expertise leveraging qualitative research methods (e.g., firmographics, in-depth interviews, focus groups, diary studies) and quantitative research methods (e.g., driver modeling, regression analysis, factor analysis, clustering)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with small businesses
  • US and international work experience
  • Master’s degree or higher
  • Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $186,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
