Sr. Scientist

Purpose of Position:

As the Sr. Scientist on the team working closely with the Principal Scientist and Technologist, you will conduct benchtop formulation, innovation, plant trials, cost savings, ingredients review, and formulation maintenance.

This is a hands-on Sr. Scientist role, working closely on the commercialization piece of finished foods. You will work with a cross-functional team including plant manager, quality manager and operations manager to trouble-shoot, diagnose and implement action plans to optimize formulation to scale-up commercialization at the facility.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Support the product categories manufactured in our plant
• Primary responsibilities for this position include the execution of assigned new product development, quality improvement, and cost optimization in the area of snack foods
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to commercialize new products
• Identify and lead process and formulation improvements
• Collaborate and provide technical support to customers, purchasing and operation teams

Requirements:

• BS / MS in Food Science. 7-10 years’ experience in the food industry in Research & Development with experience in CPG
• Proven track record of successful product development from concept to commercialization required
• Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication
• Executional excellence, personal leadership and customer focus a must
• Travel 10-15% - trade shows in LA area, West Coast, Corporate HQ is in Ohio
