Staff Accountant Analyst

The Staff Accounting Analyst will support the team in carrying out the accounting and analysis for Cineverse. This position requires organization and a team player attitude with attention to detail and the ability to work through large data sets and sources with speed and accuracy. The position will report to the Accounting Manager and will interact directly with other accounting/finance team members and, periodically, senior management.

Essential Functions

• Prepare journal entries by consolidating and dissecting large data sets into useful information to calculate and record revenue and A/R
• Review vendor payments and other cash transactions and record appropriately
• Perform account analysis and reconciliations
• Identify and prepare accruals and estimates for expenses
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Support variance analysis and other ad-hoc financial reports as needed
• Assist in the creation of schedules needed for monthly financial reporting
• Ensure all transactions are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP
• Interact with accounting and finance leadership to ensure complete financial close and provide data for analysis and forecasting
  
  

Essential Qualifications

• Experience with financial statement analysis and proficiency in compiling and manipulating large data sources
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
• Working knowledge with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and other applications within the MS Office Suite
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts
• Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP, particularly revenue recognition
• Experience with NetSuite is a PLUS
• Prior experience in major media, entertainment or technology services company is a PLUS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting\Finance preferred
• 2-4+ years of progressive general accounting experience
• Public accounting experience a plus
• CPA designation is a PLUS
