Staff Accountant

8-5, Monday through Friday

Altorfer is looking for a motivated accountant to join our finance team! As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing information and reconciling general ledger accounts to support internal and external financial reporting. You will also have opportunities to learn and grow in this position as we transition to a new Microsoft accounting software.

• Reconcile various accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Assist in month-end close procedures, including accruals, depreciation, and inventory adjustments
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Prepare and file state sales tax returns for multiple states
• Prepare general journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Maintain fixed asset schedules
• Support outside auditors and tax accountants and prepare requested workpapers
• Other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Previous accounting experience required
• CPA certification is preferred but not required
• Fluency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  
  
  

This position will work in an office environment. May, on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Noise level in the office may range from low to moderate. There may be times when you may need to go out into the service shop or warehouse area and will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields).
