Staff Accountant

ABOUT THIS POSITION:

The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the finance department in various accounting functions. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.

Prepare and journal entries for various transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accruals.

Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Review and analyze financial statements for discrepancies and variances.

Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis for management review.

Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.

Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during audits.

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and resolve accounting issues.

Perform ad-hoc analysis and projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in e-commerce or retail industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct, Shopify).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Bachelor’s degree or certification in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
