Job Summary

We are recruiting a Staff Accountant to help support the accounting function and play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, thrives in a fast-paced environment and excited about growing a company. This role will report to the Director of Accounting and Finance. We are open to US based candidates to work as a dedicated full-time employee. Most of our staff reside in the Mountain or Pacific time zone, but we are open to any US location.

The Staff Accountant will support the daily accounting operations, month end close, day to day transactional requirements of the Company, as well as ad hoc requests from the accounting and finance team. This individual will be responsible for accounts payable, general ledger management, assist in month end close, reconciliations, billing, collections, and special projects. Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, has a knack for driving process improvements and efficiencies, and brings experience working in a fast-growing SaaS or technology start up previously.

Experience

We are looking for someone that has already done the following aspects of this newly created role successfully:

• You have been a key member of a team for 4+ years owning payroll, general ledger, AR and AP with a solid foundational understanding of accounting operations and GAAP reporting
• You have worked across multiple software systems geared toward startups such as QBO, Ramp, SFDC and Gusto
• You have worked and thrived in a remote start up environment
  
  

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly/quarterly/annual close processes
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Own day to day AP and AR cycles including customer invoicing, collections, and weekly bill payments
• Oversee all general ledger transactions and entries
• Preparation and entry of semi-monthly payroll
• Assist in managing integrations between multiple systems: QBO, SFDC, Ramp, Gusto
• Analyze transactional data to identify trends and make recommendations to improve the process and increase efficiency
  
  

Qualifications

• Background in startup software company
• The desire to build out the processes and functions within the accounting team with a goal of managing staff in the future
• The ability to navigate multiple projects and tasks while maintaining a sense of urgency and accuracy for completion
• Degree in accounting or related field preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to monthly metrics and GAAP reporting
• Exceptional time management skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience building controls and processes at a rapidly growing company
  
  

Compensation

$70k-$100k expected base salary range*

• Pursuant to various state laws, we must display the pay range for this job. Since we are willing to hire within a broad spectrum of qualifications, we also reflect a broad pay range. The expected base salary range that we are targeting for this position can be adjusted up or down based on individual qualifications. Individual salary is determined by qualifications, role, level and location
