Staff Accountant

Job Description

Keltec, Inc. located in Twinsburg, Ohio, is a manufacturer of industrial filtration products for the compressed air, refrigeration, and natural gas industries and has grown to become the largest manufacturer of air-oil separators in North America. We are looking to add a Staff Accountant to our growing manufacturing business.

Summary:

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Assist in cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets reconciliations and analysis, including:
• Reconciling bank accounts and addressing inquiries from banks.
• Reconciling payroll, accounts receivable, and other Balance Sheet accounts.
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Coordinates with software vendors and consultants to maintain accounting software systems; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 2 years related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of related experience
• Manufacturing or public accounting experience preferred but not required
  
  

Normal Working Hours and Conditions: Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.

Physical Requirements: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Daily physical functions include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
