Job Summary

Homeboy Foodservice runs operations in contract food service at the Martin Luther King Behavioral Health Center in Compton Los Angeles. This is a unique opportunity to prepare meals that are healthy and can improve mental health. The Steward/Dishwasher may work in various parts of the kitchen, duties may include dishwashing, food prep, serving customers, preparing customer orders, delivering meals the hospital wards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prep food, chopping or preparing sauces
• Prepare food orders
• Coordinate food orders to provide a timely and efficient delivery to customers
• Deliver meals to the hospital wards
• Stock and organize food inventory
• Maintain a clean kitchen, dishwashing
• Provide excellent customer service
• Wash dishes
• Clean the kitchen areas
• Adhere to food and sanitation standards
• Prepare food trays and carts for delivery in a timely & efficientmanner
• Deliver carts to various wards throughout the hospital building
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen workspaces
• Wash dishes for service
• Wash dishes for production
• Mopping, deep cleans of kitchen
• Adhere to food & sanitation standards
• Provide excellent customer service
  
  

Qualifications

• Dishwashing experience
• Maintenance/Janitorial experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Sense of urgency in the kitchen
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to stand the full shift
• Ability to multi-tasks
• Ability to work independently
• Experience in Hospitality / Restaurant including the kitchen
• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed
  
  

Compensation Package

$19/hr.

Shifts

Open availability is required for this position, including weekends and evenings. Schedule will be between 5am - 7pm.
