Rowan's Store Planner, reporting directly to the Director, Supply Chain, is responsible for managing the initial allocation and replenishment flow of inventory to ensure the optimal balance of sales and stock levels, along with in-season inventory management at the store/SKU level. The Store Planner requires a deep understanding of merchandise assortment needs to meet financial targets and profitability goals. The Store Planner collaborates closely with Buyers and Planners to maximize business opportunities and strategically manage inventory by SKU and location to enhance in-store profitability.

What you'll do:

  • Resolve delivery and receiving issues by collaborating with buyers, supply chain teams, distribution centers, and stores to ensure proper inventory allocation.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels are allocated to new store openings and coordinate with the Order Management Specialist to address any discrepancies.
  • Execute the release of merchandise inventory from distribution centers to retail stores to support sales.
  • Develop and implement allocation strategies for specific plan levels and execute physical inventory allocations.
  • Write and manage all replenishment orders to maintain continuous stock availability.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on sales trends, forecasts, and store size.
  • Develop a deep understanding of store attribute performance and trends through data analysis and field communication.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adapt effectively to changes in direction in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong working relationships with team members.
  • Provide DC allocation instructions and inventory transfer directions to ensure optimal store stock levels.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in inventory management, store planning, or a related field within the retail industry.
  • Proven track record in managing inventory allocation and replenishment processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong aptitude for numbers and advanced retail math skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to extract data from multiple platforms.
  • Excellent presentation skills for effectively communicating data insights and strategies.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional discussions, positively influence others, and gain alignment.
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong working relationships with team members.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes and best practices.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and merchandise assortment strategies.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective inventory allocation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of sales trends, forecasts, and store size considerations in inventory management.
