Job Description

Title: Strategy Associate

Overview:

DAVID YURMAN is looking for a strategic and analytical Strategy Associate to support the ongoing development and implementation of its growth strategy and strategic initiatives across the company. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy, this role is part of DAVID YURMAN’S Corporate Strategy function, which is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company and supporting strategic projects to enable the success of business leaders.

This role will work cross-functionally with leaders to understand their business challenges and bring analytical capabilities to generate data-driven insights and recommendations. In this role, you will scope and conduct market and competitor research, synthesize market and industry trends, build financial models and business cases to evaluate recommendations, and develop executive communications to articulate findings. Projects may include assessing new growth opportunities (e.g., markets, products), business optimization initiatives, and strategic plan development.

We’re looking for a highly motivated, self-starter, interested in the luxury industry, with the ability to creatively solve problems and navigate ambiguity. This role will require regular interaction with senior leadership and is expected to independently lead strategic workstreams and quantitative analyses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with diverse teams and leaders to scope, evaluate, develop and implement strategic initiatives that support the company’s growth ambitions
  • Translate business problems into analytical problems and develop models and scenarios to identify potential solutions
  • Analyze and synthesize data and craft storylines to articulate findings and insights that can be communicated to executive leaders and the board
  • Conduct research on industry and competitor trends and synthesize into key takeaways and implications for executives
  • Build strong working relationships, across all levels and disciplines, to drive progress through influence

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Background: Minimum of 3 years work experience in management consulting, investment banking and/or corporate strategy
  • Problem-solving: Very strong problem-solving skills with ability to find structure and logic to provide meaningful conclusions
  • Analytical skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical capability based (ability to build complex excel models to understand different scenarios)
  • Communication: Ability to synthesize and communicate ideas, both verbally and in writing, through structured and clear recommendations
  • Organization: Strong project management capabilities with ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously

Working mode: Hybrid (3 days/week in office, 2 days remote) NYC

Estimated salary range: $110,000-$135,000

  • Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
