Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer-Welding is responsible for providing technical support to production processes, including machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly, involved in manufacturing HVAC centrifugal chillers. This role may also involve leading projects to enhance processes of moderate to significant scope and offering manufacturing engineering insights for product design changes in production. The position requires daily onsite attendance and is considered safety-sensitive.

Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer-Welding is responsible for providing technical support to production processes, including machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly, involved in manufacturing HVAC centrifugal chillers. This role may also involve leading projects to enhance processes of moderate to significant scope and offering manufacturing engineering insights for product design changes in production. The position requires daily onsite attendance and is considered safety-sensitive.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of production processes and controls in a manufacturing environment, ensuring they meet or exceed customer requirements by providing technical support as needed.
- Conduct process qualification activities to ensure that processes meet the required specifications.
- Develop and maintain documentation for new or updated processes, and assist in training production associates.
- Propose projects and provide technical leadership to help the site achieve safety, quality, and productivity improvement goals within manufacturing operations.
- Apply a standardized problem-solving approach to troubleshoot product and process failures, and develop root cause solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to build consensus and achieve best practice outcomes, including participating in or occasionally leading rapid improvement events as part of the site's Lean transformation.
- Lead the development of manufacturing concepts through to the implementation of the final process design.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Strong project leadership and team-building skills.
- Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- Initiative to further develop technical skills, interpersonal abilities, and career growth.
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, customer focus, team orientation, and results-driven mindset.
- $85,000 to $110,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
- Must be local and eligible without sponsorship.
