Locke Solutions is a small to medium-sized concrete manufacturing plant in rapid growth mode. Our recent expansion from 1 to 3 locations is just the beginning, as we have ambitious plans to reach 5-10 locations within the next 7 years.

We are seeking a motivated and talented Entry-Level Structural Engineer (EIT) to join our dynamic team at Locke Solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in structural engineering and a passion for contributing to the design and development of precast concrete solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Results Area #1 - Structural Design and Analysis:

Successful Result- 95% of assigned design and analysis tasks completed weekly.

  • Assist senior engineers in the design and analysis of precast concrete components and structures for projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Utilize structural analysis software to perform simulations and analyses for precast concrete elements, ensuring structural integrity and efficiency.

Key Results Area #2 - Design Documentation and Quality Assurance:

Successful Result- Track the completion of design documents and conduct self-assessments to ensure compliance.

  • Prepare comprehensive structural calculations, drawings, and design documentation in adherence to industry standards and regulations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of structural designs and calculations through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to company standards and best practices.

Key Results Area #3 - Collaboration and Project Support:

Successful Result- Customer or Cross Functional team members satisfaction rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on feedback surveys.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CAD designers, estimators, and project managers, to develop innovative precast solutions that meet project specifications and objectives.
  • Provide technical support and assistance throughout the project participating in project meetings, and site visits as required.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to production and manufacturing teams during the fabrication and installation of precast concrete elements.

Key Results Area #4 - Continuous Learning and Professional Development:

Successful Result- Complete at least two professional development activities per quarter.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to precast concrete design, construction, and structural engineering, pursuing continuous learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and expertise.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to further enhance knowledge and expertise in structural engineering and precast concrete design.

Key Results Area #5 - Communication and Problem Solving:

Successful Result- Maintain an average response time of 24 hours or less for addressing technical inquiries and resolving issues.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to address technical inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure project success.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges and discrepancies related to structural design and analysis in a proactive and timely manner, demonstrating problem-solving skills and initiative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain EIT certification within six months of hire.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including ACI.
  • Prior internship or work experience in structural engineering or precast concrete design is preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
