We are currently searching for an experienced Structural Engineer to support our Carolinas Region located in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform the routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
  • Projects may include design and repair of highway bridges and retaining walls, bridge load ratings, review of working drawings and cost estimating
  • Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs
  • Prepare or check structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials, predominantly steel and concrete
  • Prepare structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as roadway and drainage to perform checks of documents for conformance to structural drawings

What you need to have:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 - 10 years of engineering experience in bridge design
  • Recent experience in steel and/or concrete bridge design
  • PE or EI Certification
  • Familiarity with bridge design and analysis software such as Open Bridge and/or Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, AASHTO BrR,other bridge analysis software
  • Experience with preparing drawings in Open Bridge, Microstation, and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
