We are currently seeking two Structural Engineers with 5 to 9 years of experience in building structure design. Candidates who are licensed structural PEs or engineers-in-training nearing licensure will be considered for this position. Experience in designing mid-rise structures using steel, post-tensioned concrete, or mass timber is preferred. In this Project Engineer role, you will work within small project teams on a variety of project types and structural systems. You will have direct interaction with our clients and project design teams. At Scalene Design, we offer excellent opportunities for professional growth while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our Project Engineers work on projects under the guidance of the firm’s Partners. Your responsibilities will include structural design calculations, plan and detail development involving BIM modeling, client and project design team coordination, and construction administration. This position also entails mentoring and managing engineering interns and designers, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of engineering, Revit, and drawing standards. With experience the role can transition to independently managing and designing projects and acting as the engineer of record for those projects.
The position requires working in our Raleigh office on a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week where you can work from home. Comprehensive pay and benefits package including:
