We are looking for a highly skilled Physical Substation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and project management of physical substation projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in substation design, proficiency in AutoCAD, and knowledge of other relevant design software.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Substation Design: Develop detailed physical design layouts for high-voltage substations, including bus layouts, grounding, cable routing, and equipment placement.
  • Technical Drawings: Create and modify detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other design software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Management: Manage substation projects from concept through completion, ensuring that designs are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Specification and Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, bill of materials, and documentation for substation equipment and systems.
  • Coordination: Work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of physical and electrical designs.
  • Site Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing construction plans, resolving design-related issues, and conducting site inspections.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs adhere to relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize AutoCAD and other design tools like MicroStation, PLS-CADD, and Revit to develop and review detailed substation designs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in substation design and engineering.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in substation design, with a focus on physical design aspects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with MicroStation, PLS-CADD, and Revit is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of substation design principles, industry standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI), and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project site visits and inspections.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
  • Experience with high-voltage substation projects (69 kV and above).
  • Familiarity with power system analysis tools and software.
