SUBSTITUTE NURSE

Job Description

Implement district health services program to best meets the needs of the student population on the assigned campus. Provide health services to students. Promote health and safety education for students and preventive health practices for students.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program

Valid registered nurse license (RN) OR (LVN) from the Texas Board of Nursing (Required upon hire)

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Provides care for student and staff illness and accidents.
  • Administers care based on individual health care plans and individual emergency care plans.
  • Serves as liaison between the home and the school regarding student health concerns.
  • Documents all encounters in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Follows communicable disease control procedures and informs administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission.

  • LVN - $120 daily
  • RN - $135 daily
