Responsibilities

The Greif Early Career Program offers a 10-week corporate internship experience. Participants will undertake project-based assignments focused on Global Supply Chain Sustainability and Risk Management.

  • Support supply chain projects in Sustainability, including but not limited to: carbon emissions reduction within logistics and energy categories
  • Support supply chain projects in Global Supply Chain Risk Management, including but not limited to: third-party screening, continuous monitoring, and risk controls
  • Participate in supplier discovery projects for increasing recycled content of products
  • Analyze Supply Chain data, like carbon emissions, supplier lifecycle analyses, risk attributes, and more to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop processes and operating procedures for Global Supply Chain Risk management
  • Assists with Supply Chain assignments the team is currently working on

You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Assist in supply chain assignments and ongoing projects
  • Familiarize yourself with departmental functions
  • Exposure to various functions within the organization, including finance, marketing, innovation, sales, and operations
  • Hands-on experience in sustainability and risk management, areas where Greif is making significant investments
  • Opportunities to reduce carbon emissions and plastics, contributing to a global impact beyond our organization
  • Attend internship events, social networking events, and roundtables
  • Potentially present to the Executive Leadership Team at the end of the internship
  • Contribute to performance goals and assigned projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Sustainability, Enterprise Risk Management, Supply Chain Management, Business (with a focus on Supply Chain), or a related field
  • Minimum completion of three years or more of college required prior to the start of your internship, with enrollment in a master's program preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to work full-time during the 10-week internship experience beginning May 19th, 2025, to July 25th, 2025


What Sets You Apart

  • Strong academic background, with a preferred GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Relevant internship, work experience, or involvement with professional clubs/organizations
  • Possesses knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, or Risk Management topics
  • Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to synthesize and present data using platforms like PowerBI and Microsoft Excel, or other data visualization platforms
  • Is passionate about supply chain sustainability, risk management, reducing risks, and increasing efficiencies
  • Background knowledge of ESG and carbon emission reporting frameworks such as GHG Protocol, SBTI, CDP, etc.
  • Takes initiative and has a natural curiosity that drives networking and collaboration
  • Open to feedback with the ability to adapt and pivot as needed
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, time management, analytical, and adaptability skills
