Your mission
As a Supplier Development Manager, you direct, lead and manage all aspects of the Supply Quality assurance activities in the frame of new and ongoing projects for Autocar trucks. You will lead a team of strong Supplier Quality Engineers and Subject matter Experts focused on all Supplier Quality activities from Supplier selection, Supplier Development, and ongoing performance improvements. You will lead APQP and communicate the Quality targets and requirements to suppliers. You have the responsibility to manage and challenge the overall quality performance of Suppliers delivering to any Autocar LLC locations. You will foster zero defect mindset both internally and externally and build a robust supply chain.

What Does it Take to Be Part of Our Team?
You’ll Achieve These Key Outcomes:
- Drive the development of all APQP activities and documentation (PPAP, SPC, Product Validation, AAR, etc.)
- Communicate, identify, and address internal and external customer quality concerns related to new and existing products.
- Build strategic frameworks of the supply chain to align with Sourcing strategies, by improving supply in a timely, relevant and actionable manner.
- Drive Technical review of Part drawings and feasibility requirements and supplier capability to identify risks and opportunities as they pertain to the APQP process.
- Support program execution of key supplier initiatives from prototype phase, through pre-production phase and into production including continuous improvements.
- Work with internal and external management, Engineering, Quality, Production teams, & sub- suppliers to develop and implement successful product launch, on time and on budget.
- Build and lead cross-functional program teams, set program goals, plan/schedule, monitor program execution, drive issue resolution, report progress to Management.
- Support and maintain requirements for ISO 9001 latest edition (and TS certification) for the Supply base.
- Good communication skills with key stakeholders both internal and external
- Interpret and analyze automotive drawings, specifications and schematics
- Analyze supplier process data, compile actionable reports, and give presentations
- Lead cross functional teams in a procurement environment for problem solving, corrective actions and improvements.
- Root Cause Strategies such as:
- 8D
- 5W2H + Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) + Factor Tree Analysis (FTA)
- 6 Sigma DMAIC
- Supplier evaluation: TS16949, ISO9001, VDA 6.3 auditor training
- Run at rate and best practices analysis, value stream mapping
- Process capacity analysis
- APQP program management
- VA-VE programs and initiatives on Cost, Quality, Delivery, Logistics
- Technical aptitude, education, or relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Industrial Engineering degrees or related technical industry experience preferred
- Experience in Automotive or Commercial Vehicle, contracted manufacturing or other relevant industry experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of Supply quality and Supplier development experience. Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Experience in managing APQP with supply chain in high complexity environments
- Working knowledge of Procurement & Quality processes – Assessment, Supplier selection, Development, and improvements.
- Experience processing metrics to make and recommending actions
- Experience with statistical and analytical software
- Experience in Supply chain optimization techniques
- Project management experience would be a plus.
