About You

We're seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Supplier Quality Engineer, Global. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will ensure that sourced products and services meet consistent high standards of qualityby managing internal- and external-sourced products and services for on-time delivery expectations, monitoring and managing supplier performance to meet full quality compliance requirements standards, and championing digital QMS and ERP operations in support of robust manufacturing operations

In addition, you will:

  • Identify critical control parameters by reviewing engineering and manufacturing specifications to and collaborating with Procurement & Supply Chain in defining control parameters and metrics that apply to products and services, both external and internal, that facilitate sustained conformance to Quality requirements
  • Ensure a robust supplier selection and compliance process by performing new supplier approval assessments (supplier remote-assessment and on-site assessments), reviewing results and actionable items, identifying deficiencies and gaps, and verifying the effectiveness of completed supplier actions plans.
  • Deliver outstanding customer advocacy and satisfaction by ensuring that customer specified sourcing requirements are documented, implemented, monitored, maintained, and continually assessed for improvements
  • Develop, implement, and improve quality management systems by partnering with internal and external product and service providers to develop methodologies that meet or exceed ISO9001 compliance and certification requirements. Also, by championing software implementation and uptake through JD Edwards, digital QMS, and other software that enhances manufacturing and operations
  • Manage supplier product, process, and service performance by establishing, updating, and maintaining supplier KPIs and metrics. By executing remote and onsite supplier assessments, collecting, documenting, and analyzing supplier trend performance data then determining and developing supplier corrective action and continual improvement plans
  • Drive continuous improvement by championing company-wide software implementation and uptake through JD Edwards, digital QMS, and other programs that enhance manufacturing and operations. Also, by maintaining a supplier database for in-house access
  • Resolve product, process and service-related conformance, performance, or delivery issues by facilitating communications and managing a scheduled meeting cadence between procurement, manufacturing, R&D, and production operations with external providers


Requirements

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering related discipline. Chemical Engineering degree preferred
  • Significant experience utilizing ERP tools, JD Edwards E1 preferred
  • Excellent in-house and external communication and liaison skills
  • Advanced knowledge of international quality management system standards, manufacturing and production processes, government compliance, and quality control regulatory standards
  • The global responsibilities of this position result in the incumbent working moderated hours
  • 5+ years of Supplier Quality Management experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field
  • Solid understanding of quality tools such as statistical process control, Six Sigma, Lean, process improvements, yield improvements, cycle time reductions, root cause analysis, failure modes, test procedures, first article inspection (FAI), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and CpK process capability indexes
  • Results oriented
  • Analytical problem-solving skills such as DIVE, 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D methods

Salary Range: $89,122 - $109,722

Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
