This role focuses on enhancing procurement strategies and managing essential supplier relationships, providing the chance to drive significant improvements within supply chain operations in a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with main suppliers to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of materials.
- Strategic Sourcing: Formulate and execute effective sourcing strategies to manage costs and maintain a dependable supply chain.
- Collaboration: Engage with Production Planning and Operations teams to ensure synchronization on production schedules and quantities.
- Quality Focus: Collaborate with Quality Assurance to guarantee that all sourced commodities meet rigorous standards for quality, safety, and efficacy.
- Process Management: Lead the procurement process, covering international procurement, while ensuring adherence to contractual and regulatory obligations.
- Continuous Improvement: Initiate projects aimed at enhancing supplier performance, decreasing total cost of ownership, and streamlining processes.
- Data and Reporting: Keep precise procurement data, generate performance reports, and manage emergency fulfillment needs.
- Experience: 5-10 years of background in purchasing and supply chain management, emphasizing procurement processes and supplier relationship management.
- Education: An Associate’s degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Skills: In-depth understanding of commodity purchasing, quality assurance systems, and regulations such as FAR/DFAR. Strong communication abilities and project management experience are critical.
- Industry Insight: Experience in aerospace, military, or related fields is advantageous.
