$80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Systems Administrator

Location: Lakewood, CO, Hybrid

Target Salary: $80,000- $85,000 per year

Target Fill Date: June 15, 2024

Job Summary

The Systems Administrator (SA) will serve the RMCAD community by maintaining technical infrastructure. The SA will work with the IT team to coordinate any and all necessary changes to that infrastructure including but not limited to; replacement of aging servers, coordinating operating system updates on necessary resources, detailing resource needs, and working to plan future changes. This position will assist in developing RMCAD resources for any and all IT/ Campus projects.

Results

When this job is performed well, the following results will be created:

  • This role provides quality assurance for ongoing RMCAD System Operations through researching, developing, and maintaining the necessary Infrastructure.
  • Work with support teams to quickly address all systems related issues including licensing, server infrastructure, communications devices, and more.
  • This position will also assist in planning future infrastructure changes involving RMCAD Systems, hosting, and support agreements.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

RMCAD Infrastructure Upkeep (50%)

  • Inventory, review, and plan all updates to existing RMCAD Server infrastructure.
  • Monitor, maintain, and schedule necessary resource outage windows for the purpose of any and all installations, patches, or updates.
  • Audit, analyze, and work with the IT team to manage all campus licensing needs.
  • Catalog, update, and generate necessary documentation around standard operating procedures relating to RMCAD Infrastructure for internal IT use.
  • Monitor trends in security threats to plan and execute appropriate defense protocols for RMCAD systems.
  • Coordinate business intelligence systems to provide fast and secured access to accurate RMCAD information.


Third Party (20%)

  • Research, plan, budget, and install hardware and software to maintain and improve RMCAD infrastructure with necessary third party entities.
  • Assist with recycling strategies around IT equipment to include direct recycling efforts, campus sales, and other trade opportunities for RMCAD.


Support Team assistance (15%)

  • Works with the support team to develop campus laboratory, and office images for deployment during break and in term.
  • Works within IT support team and support ticket system as tier two and three infrastructure support.
  • As needed, assist in training staff of the TECHBAR on infrastructure resources for support purposes.

  • Quantitative and Qualitative Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as detailed in Departmental Quarterly Review Meetings (QRMs)
  • Regular participation in and contribution to departmental Objectives and Key Results (OKR) Process (Collaboration, Innovation, Prioritization of Individual Tasks, Action)
  • Behaviors and Attitudes reflect RMCAD's Mission, Vision, and Values

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Programming, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Resource knowledge including Active Directory, storage architectures, Microsoft Server packages, and Google services.
  • Microsoft Windows System Center Configuration Manager knowledge.
  • Cisco/Meraki Network experience
  • Various Server operating systems experience including osx, windows, and limited linux knowledge
  • Imaging experience
  • Broad technical skill set with an understanding in database applications, system analysis, project management, technical wiring, information management, and print management systems.
  • Microsoft Certifications beneficial, ITIL certification, Cisco certifications and SQL a plus.
  • Candidates should be calm, resourceful, considerate, patient, and willing to put team members above themselves to succeed at projects in place.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Employee must be able to hear, see, and accurately describe various troubleshooting related scenarios


Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The work environment is a typical office environment which may include excessive noise, confined workspaces, the need to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, push/pull up to 120 lbs, and an equal amount of time sitting and working with computers as well as actively moving around campus. Should be available 24/7 in emergency situations with occasional off-site work required. Employee must expect to be asked to fulfill physical efforts beyond normal IT work, such as operating in crawl spaces, or on ladders.
