System Integration - Verification and Validation Lead

SkyGrid is defining a future where highly automated aircraft operate without the need for onboard pilots. We develop the safety-of-life approved flight operations management services for such aircraft to ensure operations of all participants in the air transportation system are safe and secure.  

The SkyGrid team is looking for a Systems Integration and Test Lead to own the planning and execution for all aspects of the system of systems verification, validation, and integration. The ideal candidate will have several years of system integration and test experience in the aerospace industry. This is critical as this technical leader will work across several teams both internally and externally.

Performance Objectives:

  • Identify the system integration, verification, and validation strategy
  • Oversee and execute the system integration, verification and validation activities
  • Develop system verification and validation plan, procedures, and reports
  • Identify the system and subsystem test setup, instrumentation, and environment for black-box systems


Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of system and subsystem verification and validation engineers.
  • Develop the overall program strategy for system integration, verification, and validation ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of system integration, verification, and validation including simulation-based testing to validate and verify requirements.
  • Lead the design of the test setup, instrumentation, environment, and coverage for black-box systems.
  • Ensure implementation of manual and automated testing approaches and methodologies.
  • Ensure documentation of test plans, procedures, simulation, and results are captured.
  • Handle the verification testing of multiple releases.
  • Develop and deploy testing processes and ensure alignment with industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance practices.
  • Collaborate with external customers in support of system of system integration and testing activities
  • Support the development and testing of prototypes to validate system concepts and designs.
  • Prep and conduct Test Readiness Review (TRR) and Formal Qualification Review (FQR) events.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree
  • 10+ years of experience working in a highly technical, aerospace-related industry
  • 5+ years of experience as technical team lead with responsibilities covering integration, verification, validation, and qualification of complex avionics or terrestrial systems.
  • Experience with ARP 4754A
  • Relevant experience with the architectural aspects of a simulation environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Engineering degree (Masters) from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254 and DO-331.
  • Familiarity with integrating and testing client-server architectures and cloud technologies
